Myth #2: All in cybersecurity creates more vulnerabilities than it solves

AI introduces new considerations, including adversarial attacks, data poisoning, and model transparency. These are genuine challenges, but they are challenges to be addressed through robust engineering, governance, and validation, not reasons to dismiss AI as a cybersecurity tool.

Projects likeΒ AIAGENT4CYBER, funded under the π‘«π’Šπ’ˆπ’Šπ’•π’‚π’ 𝑬𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆 π‘·π’“π’π’ˆπ’“π’‚π’Žπ’Žπ’†, are exploring how multi-agent AI can support more resilient cybersecurity by distributing tasks such as threat detection, response, and coordination across specialised AI agents, while keeping human oversight central to decision-making.

The project focuses on four key areas:

β†’ Intelligent, coordinated threat detection

β†’ Proactive, automated response

β†’ Scalable, collaborative multi-agent architectures

β†’ Trustworthy deployment and validation in real-world scenarios

The question isn't whether AI introduces new risks, it does. The challenge is designing AI systems that manage those risks while strengthening cyber resilience.
